Thanksgiving 2011

We shouldn't really need a designated day to be thankful for all that we have.  We should count our blessings everyday. So even though Thanksgiving 2011 is in the bag, I am still thankful today for:
  • My family.  Yesterday was such a great day because our family of five was joined by my sister, three of her four children and her grandson.  I knew my sister and my nephew Chris would be joining us but Ellen, Beth and Nicolas were a wonderful surprise!

  • Our health.  Yes, Steve has a sore knee from jumping rope, Jack has a swollen ankle from playing in the annual GA Turkey Bowl, and Caitlin has sore knees but for the most part we are healthy and thankful for it.
  • My hounds who love me unconditionally.
  • My immediate family who humor me every Thanksgiving by letting me pick the family movie for our annual Thanksgiving movie event.  This year it was The Muppets and I've been told I never get to pick again, but I'm hoping by next year they have forgotten that edict!  For the record, I liked it.
  • Our great friends, without whom life would be boring.
  • Our continued employment jobs that enable us to keep a roof over our heads, food on the table and so much more.
  • The real live employment including benefits and 401Ks of our two oldest children.  Two down, one to go.
  • My great coworkers who make every day at the office fun - I know not everyone is as lucky as I.
  • This great country we live in.
  • All of you reading this, whether I know you personally or just through this blog, Facebook, or Twitter.  I'm thankful for each and every one of you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
