I read a lot of really good books over the past year. It's really hard to just be cut and dry and pick the one to be the best without taking into account fiction versus non-fiction, genre, etc. So I am picking three from fiction titles and three from non fiction titles. So without further ado my picks for the top three fiction titles of the year were:

1. The Story of Edgar Sawtelle
2. Special Topics in Calamity Physics
3. Bridge of Sighs

My top three non-fiction titles were:

1. Lost on Planet China
2. Journey of a Thousand Miles
3. Marley & Me

And now for my overall awards - drum roll please .....

My overall favorite book of the year pick goes to The Story of Edgar Sawtelle.
My favorite new (to me) author is ..... Richard Russo.

Happy Reading everyone!
